Delivering products and services with speed, customer satisfaction, and lower cost through operations excellence is essential to achieve and sustain superior shareholder returns in manufacturing enterprises. LEAN Six Sigma (LSS) combines the two most important improvement trends of our time: improving process control and quality using Six Sigma, and improving work flow by implementing LEAN principles.LEAN principles are a proven approach to reducing wastes and ultimately reducing costs and streamlining operations to enable enterprises to become faster and more responsive to its customers. LEAN embraces the philosophy of continually increasing the proportion of value-added activity of business processes through ongoing waste elimination. The LEAN manufacturing approach provides companies with tools to survive and thrive in a global marketplace that demands higher quality, faster delivery, and lower prices. |
The Six Sigma philosophy recognizes that there is a close relationship between product defects, unnecessary operating costs, and customer satisfaction. Six Sigma is a process that uses logical and statistical root cause analysis tools and techniques to virtually eliminate defects as a means of achieving total customer satisfaction. Six Sigma reduces variation on value-added process steps. With Six Sigma, the value of an organization’s output includes quality, availability, delivery performance, and after-market service.LEAN Six Sigma is applicable across every discipline of the enterprise including production, sales, marketing, design, administration, and service to reduce waste across the entire enterprise. |
