- Specifications for any new computer system to be purchased or upgraded
- Specifications for the cabling runs to connect computers to each other
- Specifications for the networking peripherals to enable communications
- Specifications for the Network Operating System
- Specifications for the Fileserver in either Peer-to-Peer environment or an Enterprise environment
- At least two competitive quotes for all suggested hardware to purchase
- At least one quote from a network cabling company to install any necessary cabling
- Recommendations for network administration and training for network administrator and computer users
