Proven, Comprehensive Services. Over 500 companies have engaged IMC to help them improve competitiveness, profitability and productivity. Small and medium-sized manufacturers have realized tangible results with our proven solutions.

The IMC team is comprised of businesspersons with an entrepreneurial spirit and noteworthy expertise. They are goal-driven and truly have a passion for helping others succeed. Our Business Advisors are your first line of contact, and will work with you in defining goals, developing a plan to reach those goals and assisting with the implementation of appropriate tactics.

In addition to our internal experts, IMC also brings in persons from our professional resource network to help solve problems. These external resources have been evaluated by IMC and include professionals in the areas of engineering, marketing, human resources and more.

Nuts & Bolts.   IMC is an independent, non-profit organization that is one of seven Industrial Resource Centers located throughout Pennsylvania, and an affiliate of the U.S. Department of Commerce, NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) . IMC is supported through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. As a result, we can provide high quality services to smaller manufacturers at an affordable cost.

IMC was established in 1988 to promote, advance and enhance opportunities for technology transfer, modernization and competitiveness for industrial manufacturing companies in Central Pennsylvania. Once known as the “Industrial Modernization Center”, we shortened our name to “IMC” in order to better reflect the changing business landscape.

IMC is headquartered in Williamsport, Pa. with additional offices in Altoona and State College.

Information for Consultants

IMC uses consultants with expertise in manufacturing processes, human resources, marketing, and more. IMC will work only with those consultants who have been registered to our database.

In order to be added to our database, the consultant must submit any marketing materials and complete the following forms: Consultant Resource Data Form, Ethical Conduct and Conflicts of Interest, and W-9. Once all of the necessary paperwork has been completed, IMC staff will review the materials and verify references. Upon successful completion of the review process, the consultant will be entered into the IMC database.

IMC staff and clients evaluate the work of consultants at the close of each project. Only consultants in good standing are considered for projects with clients.
